to get a PASS you need to use the ‘reblog’ option to add Unit tiltes, Learning Objectives key words for every advert you analyse eg
Unit 18 LO1 Advertising techniques
Unit 4 LO1a Target audience Demographics and Psychographics
KEY WORDS TO USE
P1 Outline the narrative, visuals and mise en scene (you partly answer it’s but not very clear and doesn’t use these words)
P1 M1 Sounds: digetic and non digetic (You briefly describe what we hear so now give 2 examples of what is said and how that would persuade another female to take notice and say why you think they are effective (Merit)
P1 M1 Style of advert animation - why? (You told me it was because they want to build an imaginary world in order to…)
P1 M1 D1 Outline, describe and explain Persuasive Techniques: USP, features of the product; benefits to the consumer: uses emotional manipulation (the answer you gave below but use key terms and say how and why)
D1 Finally Is it effective? (your answer should be “This type of techniques must be effective because this about the 4th campaign Lloyd’s have used over the past few years using this strategy) AND compare/discuss this advert with ‘British Gas’ and any other Maslow type advert that uses animation .
Look at the questions given for ‘Genre ’ and Jon’s answers.

Llyods Tsb Advert. This advert is aimed at people with a family to support, maybe aged 25 and over. The advert plays on peoples weakeness; they want the sense of security for their family. And they want to know that if something happens to them then that persons family will be looked after.
Llyods Tsb tune with a female voice because they are targeting women; that they use is catchy; and it attrats people towards it. The advert shows a couple; and what happens along the road in their life. It is made to tug on peoples heart strings and get them thinking.
Hi Ruth
This article is obviously useful - but for what? Where will or have you used the information as evidence of your research?
Where/how did you find this advert - simply uploading will not get you a grade for any of the units. You need to make known on it’s usefulness and reliability as a source.
Have you logged this as part of your Information trail and made comments on how it is helping you to think about changed Coca Cola have made in their advertising practice - and why those changes are/were currently necessary.
You should by now have found examples of the advertising it refers to - notice the date of the article.

Lauren this task was for you to do 2 things
1) Unit 1 Research: use secondary research techniques to find television adverts that reflect a certain type of genre; comment on where and how you found them; comment on how useful the sites were for collecting the data you need
2) Deconstruct each advert by outlining, describing and explaining why you think the people that made them chose to use that particular style or method to sell that type of product. Your analysis should explain that the advertisers are using emotional manipulation of our fears for security and that this reflects Maslow’s Hierachy of Needs for Safety and Security. So what is the common style used in the 3 adverts you chose. (we spoke about this in class)
Ms A
This is an advert for british gas; it shows animated cartoon bodies, but with real peoples heads on. On Maslows hierarchy of needs the advert plays on peoples need for security. As peoples parents pay for the bills in their household; the advert shoes a boy in the shower, and the water goes cold; so he shouts to his mum. His mum phones the boiler repair man, and he comes round the fix it. This shows just how much that children depend on their parents when things go wrong.
“Who’s Zed?” ”Zed’s dead baby…”
But who used the sample in their Dub step tune?

Remember the name and definition is the method - the techniques are examples of how you can conduct the method
Slide 1 - incomplete so no mark
slide 2 - pass
slide 3 - pass
slide 4 - merit
slide 5 - merit
slide 6 - missing so no mark
